Science Education Leadership Award

Cubist Presents 2011 Science Education Leadership Award to Crowd of 1,500

Award Presentation On February 22, 2012 Steve Gilman, joined by former New England Patriot Joe Andruzzi, presented the Cubist Science Education Leadership Award to Sean Muller before a crowd of about 1,500 students and teachers at Merrimack High School in New Hampshire.

Sean, who received several nominations, is in his 14th year at Merrimack High. He is praised by students and colleagues for bringing creative teaching to the classroom and exciting students about the world of science. He serves as advisor to the school's Science Olympiad team which has won the NH state title for three consecutive years and he spends his summer working as a researcher at MIT. Steve Gilman presented a check for $5,000 that will be used for the high school's science department. Click here for video from the event.

In addition, former offensive guard Joe Andruzzi, who won three Super Bowl rings with the Patriots, talked about the value of perseverance citing the ups and downs of his NFL career and his battle with a rare form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

This is the third year Cubist has sponsored the Science Education Leadership Award with the New England Patriots' Radio Network, honoring a teacher each week during the football season and culminating with the Teacher of the Year Award.
