Thomas J. Slater has served as our Vice President, Commercial Development & International since May 1999. In 2005 Mr. Slater added responsibility for managing international sales and alliance management through a network of international partners. From July 1998 to April 1999, he served as Senior Vice President of Business Development for Newport Strategies, a pharmaceutical consulting company. From January 1996 to July 1998, he served as Vice President, Pharmaceuticals & Fine Chemicals for Genzyme Corporation, where he was responsible for building a $50 million business in actives drug substances, intermediates, phospholipids and hyaluronic acid products.  From 1988 to January 1996, Mr. Slater served in various sales and marketing positions for Genzyme Corporation. Prior to 1988, Mr. Slater served in marketing and sales positions for the pharmaceutical companies Hoffmann-LaRoche and Upjohn. Mr. Slater received his B.S. degree in Biology from Upsala College.
